“Working with Eric felt like having a calm sparring partner who helped me see difficult situations from many different angles which really helped me to grow as a leader.”

“Working with Eric was quite challenging for me at the start. I have never had a coach before and came in expecting to get lots of answers, when instead I often left our sessions with more questions. I wouldn’t have had it any other way now. Working with Eric felt like having a calm sparring partner who helped me see difficult situations from many different angles, which really helped me to grow as a leader. ‘What had to be true that this was the best option for them?’ is a question I ask myself almost every day now.

One thing that surprised me about Eric’s coaching was how quickly I trusted him. To get the most out of working with him, I had to bring a level of vulnerability and intellectual honesty that I had not personally done before. However, it was clear quickly that the more of this I brought, the better the outcomes of our sessions.

If you’re looking for someone to tell you explicitly how to become a better leader, you should not work with Eric. If you’re open to exploring what it means for you to grow as a person and what being a better leader means in your own authentic way, then you absolutely should.”

“During our many sessions, Eric guided and helped me explore the tools and techniques for operating and leading with emotional clarity.”

“With a simple ‘What do YOU want?’ Eric has punched through layers of my brain-generated scenarios and brought the attention back to me, to be in choice and to embrace my full EQ spectrum. During our many sessions, Eric guided and helped me explore the tools and techniques for operating and leading with emotional clarity. Eric’s prompt allowed me to make some of the most difficult decisions I’ve faced.”

“My team noticed the difference almost immediately. I’m more present, and I function as a better leader because of it.”

“Before working with Eric, I was very reactive. It always felt like things were happening to me rather than through me. I was a victim of circumstance instead of being in the driver’s seat.

At first, I thought coaching was about getting advice. Now I see it as a true partnership. Eric helps me think more deeply, trust my gut, my heart, and my head, and really listen to what they’re telling me and why.

Things change so fast in my business that having a space to talk through challenges has been invaluable. Every conversation brings more clarity, especially around what I want and why. That clarity has helped me stop avoiding the things that matter most and become much more proactive instead of reactive.

The biggest change has been in how I show up as a leader. I lead with more transparency, more thoughtfulness, and greater intention. My team noticed the difference almost immediately. I’m more present, and I function as a better leader because of it.

“The work that we have done together has led me to a place of increased peace of mind and freedom by embracing all of myself and accepting reality as it is.”

“Eric never solves any problems for me; not directly, anyway. Rather, he helps me become more aware of internal signals I might have ignored and brings to the surface interior murmurings that have been waiting to be acknowledged. The work that we have done together has led me to a place of increased peace of mind and freedom by embracing all of myself and accepting reality as it is. It feels like driving without the emergency brake on.”

“The results have been me moving through the world with a heightened degree of noticing. That noticing has brought a greater capacity to own how I show up, enjoy myself in the process, and ultimately, love what I’m doing.”

“If mindfulness is the layer of noticing between a stimulus and our reaction, Eric might best be referred to as a mindfulness coach. His mantra is ‘celebrate that you noticed.’ We’ve examined many recurring patterns I run in my professional and personal life. We’ve dug into the stories, the emotions, and the wants that undergird those patterns, especially the ways that I’m dodging emotions I don’t want to feel. The results have been me moving through the world with a heightened degree of noticing. That noticing has brought a greater capacity to own how I show up, enjoy myself in the process, and ultimately, love what I’m doing.

How I Coach

Guiding Principles

Presence Precedes Performance

Leadership doesn’t improve by learning another framework. It comes through training awareness.

Humanity Is a Competitive Advantage

People do their best work when they feel safe, seen, and trusted. High-performing teams are built through genuine relationships.

Courage Creates Freedom

Every difficult leadership problem requires courage. Speak honestly. Set boundaries. Be vulnerable.

Curiosity Brings Clarity

Better decisions are born when leaders ask the right questions, listen carefully, and put the answers to good use.

I don’t offer one-size-fits-all life hacks or quick fixes. Instead, I create a space to challenge your assumptions and reconnect with what matters.

You’ll identify counterproductive patterns, experiment with new approaches, and learn to lead effectively and sustainably with your individual strengths.

Let’s Talk
My Core Belief

Leadership isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about removing everything standing between you and who you’ve always been.

What Clients Gain

You’ll walk away with the freedom that comes with trusting your instincts and talents.

Eric Allen, executive coach
About Me

Former CTO. Founder.
Executive Coach.

My uniquely practical approach comes from real experience: I have founded and sold companies, went from junior engineer to CTO in under eight years, have navigated acquisition, multiple security certifications (ISO27001, SOC2,) executed hard-pivots, made difficult layoff decisions, and carried fiduciary responsibility.

Before engineering, I worked in finance, sales, and marketing. I have empathy for and know how to partner with all facets of your business. I’ve been on both sides of the CEO/CTO divide and understand the friction, because I’ve caused it, absorbed it, and resolved it. I’ve recruited, hired, onboarded, and led high-performing teams through hypergrowth and through contraction.

I work with founders, CEOs, CTOs, and engineering leaders navigating the same high-stakes moments I’ve lived. I know how stressful and isolating it can be.

I don’t give you advice or quick fixes. Instead, I ask you the uncomfortable questions, experiment alongside you, and to help you find the clarity necessary to lead with enjoyment and ease.
